Register for new online events permitting system
29 October 2024
The City of Cape Town’s Events Permit Office is in the process of rolling out its online permitting system to improve ease of application.
The Events Permit Office is calling on event organisers to register for its new Events Permit Management System (EPMS).
The EPMS has been designed to streamline the permit application process and phase out the manual system over time.
The system is also aimed at reducing delays with process flow and improving turnaround times for permit approvals.
‘The City’s Events Department is working hard behind the scenes to modernise its processes and ensure organisers can plan their events without the hassle of paperwork. The EPMS forms part of these broader plans to get our systems in line with global standards and we believe this online tool will not only ease the way of doing business for event organisers, but will lead to an uptick in the number of permits we process annually. Over the next couple of weeks, the Events Permit Office is making time daily during work hours to take event organisers through the registration process to ensure all clients are compliant with the new system when we fully switch to the online application process,’ said Mayoral Committee Member for Safety and Security Alderman JP Smith.
Event organisers seeking assistance with registration can visit the Events Permit Office at the Civic Centre from 1 November 2024 between 10:00 and 14:00.
The EPO is located on the 10th floor of the Tower Block.
In order to register for the system, prospective event organisers will be required to provide their ID or passport number.
Those who would like to register on their own can visit the City’s e-Service portal
